:: John Watts ‘ether Music & Film’
John Watts arrives at The Porter Cellar Bar performing his own brand of adult alternative music. He will be showing a 30-minute version of the road-movie ‘Ether’, which documents his travels with a laptop in the making of his latest CD/DVD ‘Ether Music & Film’. John, the original main-man of UK art-wave Fischer-Z still retains the energy and character of his earlier work but now he does solo performance that encompasses both high-energy music and an ear for the spoken word. As well as the film he will be accompanied by a complimentary local support. Watch out for John’s new album and DVD in local specialist record stores and for tie-ups with your local art cinema.
:: Team Rocket
Guitars fizz and crackle in traditional girl-punk brashness, feistier than the Primitives and more than capable of battering Transvision Vamp in a fight. A blitzkrieg bop that would bounce the likes of Birdland and the Darling Buds out of town. Capturing the spirit of 80’s new wave faultlessly. Wired energy, frazzled with high-octane melody.' - Birmingham Evening Mail. Cartoon-sensible girl-pop with pop-punk overtones, now featuring the newly-recruited Kelly from Twist on bass. Compared to CBGBs-era Blondie.
