Welcome to the Moles Battle of the bands page. This is the page that keeps you informed about this important competition in the Bath live music calendar, as it progresses. This year the competition is likely to start earlier so we are asking bands who want to enter the competition to apply now to avoid disappointment Last year we had around 70 to 100 entries. These were whittled down to 35 for the actual competition by means of a demo review session.
When the match tree is up and running, you'll be able check on which bands have been allocated to which heats and who they're playing against. As the competition progresses, you’ll be able to see how many points each band has scored from the judges as well as from the public vote. Clicking on an individual band's name on the match tree will take you to their profile, and clicking on the date of the heat, will take you to the full line-up details for that night, complete with descriptions, photos and MP3s. We also have a comprehensive band biog page where you can check out who’s who and listen to the competing band's MP3s. You can also interact with the competition by voting for your own fantasy winner. Of course there is no prize for the winner of the fantasy contest, it is just for fun.
During the competition, the page will be updated on a weekly basis so keep your eyes’ peeled for how your favourite band has scored. Don't forget - if you want to be able to vote in the Battle of the Bands you have to be at the club by 9.30pm to get a voting form. The doors will open every night of the competition at 9.00pm. Once the opening band have got half-way through their set, there will be no more voting forms given out for the rest of the evening.
