Jeffery & Jack Lewis Band @ Moles 12th Feb
07 February 2006 As the booker of Moles I have a habit of getting a little over excited about some of the bands I have booked but on this occasion I feel perfectly justified in being positively ecstatic! One of the reasons I wanted to be promoter was to put on interesting acts and individuals and an individual that I have longed to get into Moles since before I even worked here is New York’s Jeffery Lewis. Now I am very pleased to inform you all that he will be taking time out of his tour with the Cribs and Giant Drag to perform at Moles on February 12th with his brother and fellow musician Jack. This is going to be a fantastic evening with music from the anti-folk brothers and from closer to home. Bristol’s Cleaner Collective, who I could wax lyrical about for hours, will supply support. Here a little info on them to give you an idea, you may recognise a few of the names! The Cleaner Collective is composed of link-minded individuals who bring together differing music interests. They include Sam Leyden, Rachael Dadd (ex-Whalebone Polly), Andy Nowak and Dan Everett - All of whom have developed individually as singer-songwriters. Sam, known also as RomanHead, is one of the enigmatic Fence Collective, who’s members have included King Creosote, James Yorkstown and KT Tunstall. Rachael is one Snowstorm Record's stars and is label mates with Chris TT. Andy also performs nationally and internationally with his own Jazz group the Andy Nowak trio. If that doesn’t wet your whistle I don’t know what will! Check out: www.thejeffreylewissite.com for more info on Jeffery Lewis. All the best Steve |
