Porter kitchen refit
![]() 26 April 2006 Lovers of veggie food we’re a little disappointed to find that the kitchen was closed at the beginning of the week at Bath’s only veggie pub. Essential work was being carried out in the kitchen to improve the service, and make life easier for our dedicated cooks. Hannah our brilliant manager has been working hard on this project for some time, and has just managed to complete it before leaving for her round the world trip. She's leaving us at the end of May unfortunately. Sam the carpenter was sweating in there all day Monday and Tuesday, relaying the entire floor, and John our stalwart plumber was plumbing in the gleaming new massive sinks. All the equipment had to be removed from the kitchen to do repairs to the sub-floor, and sadly there was no way we could keep the kitchen open. I tried to think of a way, as I hate closing things, but it just couldn’t be done. Despite a few hitches along the way, the work was all completed on schedule, and today (Wednesday) I was able to phone over from the Moles office, and order my favourite meal – curry, rice and hummus. So a big sorry to all the people that didn’t see the notices, and turned up hungry and ready on Monday and Tuesday, only to be disappointed – we’re open and ready again as from this Wednesday 26th April! |
