Under 18s Battle of the Bands 2008
![]() spite 16 April 2008 Calling all stars of tomorrow! The Moles club under-18s battle of the bands 2008 competition will soon be starting, and there are still places available for bands wishing to enter the competition. This event has been growing in popularity and stature since its inception in 2005, and they are determined to make this years event the biggest and best yet. This year The Bath Chronicle have joined forces with Moles club to help to promote the event, and in addition to this they will be reviewing all the gigs in the competition, as well as putting up a substantial cash prize of £1000 for the overall winners. The overall winners will also receive recording time in the Moles studios, with additional prizes being awarded for the runners up. The Bath Chronicle and the staff at Moles believe it is important to support new bands in order to keep the Bath music scene fresh and vibrant, and hope to play their part in this by supporting the Moles club battle of the bands, which is giving young bands a great opportunity to develop and gain valuable experience playing live at a dedicated music venue, as well as to play alongside bands of their own age, and to perform for a large audience, including many of their peers. Just as importantly, the battle of the bands is always great fun to be involved in! The heats will be held at Moles club on Sunday afternoons, beginning on 25th of May. The competition will run for 8 weeks, with the grand final being held on Sunday 13th July. The eligibility requirement for entry is that at least 50% of the bands are under 18/still at school or college. If you would be interested in entering then please send an email to Kath@moles.co.uk to register your interest and receive more information - there will be a total of 32 bands in the competition this year, but places are already filling up fast, so please get in touch as soon as possible |
