Porter is "Top Banana"
![]() Hannah 30 December 2003 The Porter had the pleasure of winning Venue magazine's Top Banana Award for best bar recently. The Cellar Bar puts on free live entertainment 4 nights a week. Hoping to cater for all tastes you will find an eclectic array of musicians playing on the stage of the Cellar bar. This also includes of course the increasingly popular open mic night (Groundswell). Even we were surprised at how well this night has taken off over the past year with musicians usually playing to a packed house. "Porter Cellar (Top Bar) Venue Magazine:- A fun sized, music-mad basement bar, the versatile and pleasantly low-key Porter Cellar Bar can switch from 1960s chanson cafe to riotous rock den as quickly as it takes to change a barrel. Whether solo, or supping quietly with a mate, grab a table and await the free entertainment that has, in the last 18 months included Damien Rice and Clearlake. You'd be mad to go anywhere else." If you would like to play at Groundswell our regular comperes Ben Hill and Neil Gay can be contacted either directly via email (see below) or through the Moles office call Kath 01225 404445 E-mail Ben Hill or Neil Gay for further Groundswell info or to book your slot. |
