New Beers/Cider at the porter
![]() pint of beer1 13 February 2004 We've been getting quite a few requests at the top bar for a different draught cider, in recent months, and whilst we don't want to become a "cider heads" place like the Beehive became before it slid into the pit and diisappeared....... we do think there's a place for a good quality local cider that is nearer to a traditional cider than good 'ol Blackthorne. We've identified a couple that might fit the bill, but your feedback and suggestions are welcome too. In the meantime, we've got some Weston's Organic Cider in stock - and would you believe it we sold out in a day. That's a case of 36 pint bottles gone west - just like that - popular stuff. We're also planning to replace the John Smiths nitrokeg bitter that we do, for something a little more interesting. We might go back to Caffreys, or Boddingtons is another possibility - we might even try a wheat beer like Erdinger - now's your chance to have your say. E-mail Phil Andrews, or Hannah Green with any suggestions that you may have on the above. While you're at it, if there's anything that we don't do drinkswise (or snackwise), that you like the sound of us doing, then do drop us a line - you can't say we didn't ask you now! |
